About Us – Society Of Humane Friends
Society of Humane Friends of Georgia, Inc is a licensed animal rescue organization and IRS approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Since 1998 we have placed thousands of rescued dogs and cats in loving adoptive homes. We accept homeless, neglected and abused pets from various metro-Atlanta county shelters. We also accept owner surrenders on a space-available basis. All animals are evaluated and fully vetted before they are offered for adoption. Potential adopters are carefully screened to ensure a good match between human and animal. All animals are housed in volunteer foster homes and adoptions are scheduled by appointment at our Adoption Center in downtown Lawrenceville.

There are not enough good homes for all the unwanted litters of puppies and kittens and the abandoned animals that are brought to the county shelters every day.
In order to help with this problem, SOHFGA runs a low cost spay/neuter clinic open to the general public. Once a month we offer a low-cost vaccine/microchip clinic for the public.
